Gaga Ball

Activity/Supplies Location: The Park

Gaga Ball is a popular and high-energy game played inside an enclosed Gaga Ball pit. Here’s a description of how to play Gaga Ball:

  1. Setup:
    • Create a circular or octagonal Gaga Ball pit using walls or boundaries, typically made of wood or other durable materials.
    • The size of the pit can vary, but it is often around 20-30 feet in diameter.
    • The floor of the pit is typically covered with a soft surface like sand or rubberized flooring.
  1. Gameplay:
    • Players enter the Gaga Ball pit and stand around the perimeter, placing their hands on the walls.
    • A referee or designated person throws the ball into the center of the pit to start the game.
    • Once the ball touches the ground, players can begin to hit it with an open hand or closed fist, trying to hit it at or below waist level.
  1. Hitting and Aiming:
    • Players aim to hit the ball at other players below the waist level, with the intention of getting them out of the game.
    • The ball must be hit with an open hand or closed fist. No catching or throwing the ball is allowed.
    • Players can only hit the ball once before it touches the ground or another surface.
  1. Ball Movement and Bouncing:
    • The ball should stay within the boundaries of the pit. If the ball bounces out of the pit, players can retrieve it and throw it back into play.
    • When the ball bounces off a wall, it remains in play, and players continue hitting it.
  1. Elimination and Continuing Play:
    • If a player is hit by the ball below the waist or touches the ball with any part of their body above the waist, they are eliminated from the game.
    • Eliminated players must exit the pit, and the game continues without them.
  1. Gameplay Continuation:
    • The game continues until only one player remains. This player is declared the winner.

Gaga Ball is known for its fast-paced and inclusive gameplay, suitable for players of various ages and skill levels. It emphasizes quick reflexes, agility, and strategic movement. Enjoy the thrilling and action-packed experience of playing Gaga Ball in the pit!
